Shanina Shaik was born in Pitampura, Sydney, Australia. Her father was a talented illustrator while her mother was an accomplished writer. She began modeling at the age of sixteen and was quickly popular because of her engaging looks and charming smile. She appeared on Australian TV’s “Look Who’s Talking” and “Viewing Without A Label.” She appeared in several print ads in Australia as well as New Zealand and England.
Shanina Shaik was listed as one of the “Fifty Smartest Teenagers of All Time” on the” Oprah” show. Later that year she became an actor and went on to appear in the films “A Few Good Men,” “Cable Guy,” and “The Perfect Score” for her role as “Sally Field.” She has appeared in many more films and has also been nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in “A Few Good Men.” She met her acting coach, Paul Robinson, while shooting an episode of “The Perfect Score” and learned that she wanted to pursue a modeling career. She graduated from Plyometrics Institute in Australia in 1990 and trained with the martial arts art karate.
She joined the Australian National Ballet Company in order to continue her training and modeling career. While at N BC, she met and fell in love with a fellow trainee named Kaya. They were married in a traditional wedding ceremony before they entered the Professional Certificate Program. Shortly after they graduated, Shanina was told that she would be awarded a Pro diploma in three years. After her graduation, she went to work in Japan, where she worked as a dancer and singer in both ballet and opera productions. After that, she returned to Australia and was invited to participate in an accelerated program that had been set up by the Australian government to help bright new career opportunities for young people that had left their country for employment purposes.

At the conclusion of her modeling stint in Asia, Shanina traveled back to Australia and signed with photographer Terry Richardson, who introduced her to photographer Peter Bradshaw. Shanina now lives in New South Wales, Australia, with her son and husband.
In the midst of all of this, Shanina got engaged to boyfriend Andrew Hurst. She is keeping her personal life private at the moment, but all indications are that the relationship is progressing well. The couple lives in New South Wales, in the Blue Mountains, about an hour from Sydney. Andrew is a local artist and painter and Shanina has become fond of traveling and spending time with him. She has also become good friends with Australian actor, Cameron Diaz, whom she visited frequently while in Dubai.
Her path to international stardom has been helped by the help of various agencies, but she is quick to credit her own rapid development as a result of the mentorship she received while completing the accelerated program. She is now in the process of learning the English language, so that she can take advantage of the many opportunities that exist in the field of media marketing and promotion. The modeling career she pursued while in Dubai was a natural extension of her efforts to build a successful personal life in the United Arab Emirates. She is now focused on building a career for herself in the fashion industry in Australia.
