She recently celebrated her 40th birthday and the album that came out on that occasion became the second best selling CD of all time. The music has consistently retained and increased its popularity in both the US and the UK ever since it’s release. Faith is also currently signed to contracts with artist Scott Storch and Jingle Bells and has produced a number of other successful songs as well.

Paloma Faith was born in Encinitas, California. Her parents were artistic artists and encouraged her interests at a young age. She began studying art at the University of San Francisco where she pursued a degree in fine arts but soon decided to try her hand at music. She was performing in bars and clubs in Encinitas at the age of 21, playing both the acoustic and electric guitar. When she moved to Los Angeles, she concentrated her efforts on the music scene, working with artists such as Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jaco Pastorius and Kaleidoscope along with others.

While in Southern California, Paloma Faith performed at many popular clubs, including Knotts Berry’s, Hollywood Palladium, Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and finally, the Hollywood Bowl. Among her favorite songs from this period was the duet of “Love Takes Wing” with Craig Alexander and George Strait. This song became the second single from her first album called Perfect Concision. After finishing her formal training and becoming a professional artist, Paloma Faith signed to BMG through their Virgin Records division. Shortly after signing to BMG, she began working with Lexy Andritz, a well-known fashion designer. They worked together to create a series of music singles, which included the hit Christmas single “Santa Sangre”. It was through working with Lexy Andritz that Paloma Faith garnered her first major break when her ten song platinum single “Love Takes Wing” was rejected by RCA Records.

Later that summer, she was featured on the second Best Rock song of the year, “Hail To The Wind”. “Love Takes Wing” was not released until the fall of the year, which was a disappointment to fans and failed to chart well. Nevertheless, it was still a huge hit, selling more than one million copies worldwide. “Love Takes Wing” was then turned into an album called Paloma Faith’s elegy, which was not as successful as it was supposed to be. Following the album’s collapse, she signed to Epic Records where she released the solo album “The River”.

It was then that Paloma Faith hit the big time with her second major release, “I Still Believe”, a duet with David Archuleta and James Morrison. “I Still Believe” was Paloma Faith’s first number one single, which quickly followed in the wake of “Hail To The Wind”. Within a year, the album was certified double-platinum. During the following years, she released a variety of further singles, including “Come As You Are” and “Cocaine”. Finally, in 2007, she released her official self-titled debut album, which became the band’s only album to feature both acoustic and electric instruments.
