Lynda Carter was born in Phoenix, Arizona. At the age of twelve her family moved to California, where they settled near Beverly Hills. While growing up in California, she would become interested in acting and so enrolled at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in San Francisco. There she went under the name “Linda Kay.”
After graduating she then attended the University of Southern California where she joined another popular band called Highway to Heaven. When the group split up in the mid-eighties, she then decided to try her hand at being an actress. She appeared in such shows as The Mask and Happy Days. After a break up with Highway To Heaven she joined another band called vengeance who became famous thanks to their hit song, Reach Me Outside.
After working with various acting companies she then decided to get involved in the music business. She went on to have a number of hits and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She later went onto do some television specials and films including one titled Baby Did a Bad Thing. She was then approached by Jada Pinkett Smith to star in one of her first movies since her time with Vengeance. Her role as Pinkett Smith was in the spin-off of the popular TV series Angels Fall.
While it’s clear that she has gone on to have many popular and successful acting careers, she also has had a number of different roles in movies and television shows that are not very popular. She did however manage to have a role in the movie Obama vs. Bush. She has also had supporting roles in movies such as American Pie and Saturday Night Fever. Most of her appearances on television have been guest spots and came after she had established a reputation as an excellent singer and actress. It’s clear she has not lost those abilities even though she has done a great deal of acting in recent times.
