In the late 1980s, Colunga decided to pursue his acting career, traveling to the United States to study with the American director Bill Zipory. In the mid 1960s, Colunga travelled to the United Kingdom to find work. He landed a role on the soap opera ‘I Spy’ (also known as ‘Spooks’). Though the programme was popular, it was short-lived. He also had a small role in the movie ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ as a spy. The British network sitcom ‘The Stepford Wives’ gave him another breakthrough as an actor when it casted him as Oliver Bracknell, a man who worked for the British secret services. Though he was not given a role on the show, he was nominated for an OBE (Oscar) for the same role.Vai
