Rolene Strauss was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, the youngest of five children. Rolene’s parents divorced when she was young and she went to live and work in London. She met and married another man while still a teenager and they had four children. When Rolene and her husband got together again they decided to get a family and so Rolene did not get to live in Africa any more than her parents had already made plans to leave that time. Instead Rolene Strauss went back to her family home in England and began to work in the silk industry, but then, in 1965, she began to travel and visit Africa and it changed her life.
Rolene Strauss was made an honorary member of the Order of the British Empire OBE, the highest honour in the British Commonwealth. At the age of eighteen, Rolene was made a member of the Miss World Peace Prize Team and also went on to win the coveted title of Miss World Peace Prize. Later that same year Rolene Strauss was also made a member of the All Souls College in Kenya, where she graduated and pursued a degree in International Relations. After working for the Foreign and commonwealth Office in London Rolene Strauss returned to South Africa to work for the diamond mining company De Beers. Rolene Strauss was then made a member of the Entrust Commission, an organization that sets guidelines and standards for managing confidential information from companies around the world.
Rolene started her own publishing company called Rolene Beker Publishers in 2021 and has since then released five books of varying themes. Rolene Strauss biographical book covers her time in Africa, her schooling and all the major events in her life. The most popular of her five books is Rolene’s first volume of ten part topical essays entitled A Woman’s Guide to the World. Since its release in the United Kingdom the book has become hugely successful and is now being translated into fifteen languages including Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Dutch.

This video discussed different topics such as women’s empowerment and how technology is changing the face of communications. In the video Rolene Strauss discusses the creation of YouTube channel where people can get to see her daily routines. The channel has received over one million views in a few days and this has only increased since it was launched two months ago.
Rolene also spoke about the difference between writing novels and writing a book. Writing a novel requires you to keep notes in order to remember everything that you have written, whereas a social media website does not require you to keep track of anything except for your username and password. This has made Rolene Strauss’s debut novel The Senses of Self Preservation into a much bigger phenomenon than Rolene had anticipated.
Rolene Strauss’s next book The Senses of Self Preservation will be published in march/winter of 2021. No further details have yet been revealed, but we will continue to keep an eye on the situation. Rolene has also confirmed that she will be working on a movie adaptation of The Senses of Self-Preservation.
