Skylar Grey is an American professional singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer who gained global popularity after signing a contract with Universal Music Group and produced a number of massive hit songs over the years under the name of Skylar Grey. His first album was called Like Blood. He went on to produce albums for The Rolling Stones, Thriller, Behind the Mask, hip Hop/ Rap and Jazz. Skylar Grey has also been nominated for Grammys in the past for his contributions to the music industry.

Skylar Grey’s latest album titled Skylar Grey: Making Mirrors, is out now through Big Beat Records. This collection features singles like Beautiful Or Not, Blackout, Always Been there, Come As You Are, I’m a Man, In the Court of Gods, Last of the Long Knives, One Foot in the Door, and Finally Free. The album artwork includes a picture of Skylar Grey sitting on a mountain top with a chain between his legs. The release of this album has been timed for the release of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, which has millions of fans looking forward to this movie.

Skylar Grey grew up in Wausau, Wisconsin in a household that featured his two sisters and a brother. At the age of six he discovered the country music of Bob Dylan and the poetry of Keats. He was a fan of folk and blues artists such as Robert Johnson and BB King. Skylar Grey later went on to form the band Mazomanie and worked with bands such as Fleetwood Mac. During this time he met and became friendly with singer and guitar player John Butler, who introduced Skylar to the guitar and encouraged him to hone his musical skills.

Skylar Grey first began working with producer Scott Borchert at the age of eighteen. From this point he worked with a number of different producers including Don Williams, but he ultimately decided to sign with Atlantic Records. Skylar Grey first came up with a demo CD while still in high school. This demo was released by Island Records. This album “Don’t Worry” was recorded by Skylar Grey and his band Mazomanie, along with several other musicians. After the recording finished, the song “Don’t Worry” was featuring on an album entitled All That You Need Is Now.

The first single from the album All That You Need Is Now was the hit single “Echoes”. This single went on to become another huge hit for Skylar Grey and helped him to achieve further success with the band Mazomanie. Skylar Grey went on to record several more singles, most notably the hit single “American Pie” with Danny Brown. The band hit the summer of 2021 with the single “Take Me Away”. It was again one of the more successful singles from American Pie, as well as topping the radio charts.

Skylar Grey now works with the popular kids/pop band Kidinakorner. He has co-written songs with Skylar and also produces the group. In 2021, he was also featured on the song “American Pie” by Dave Matthews Band. Skylar Grey’s career is quite lucrative and successful to this point.
