Lauren Alaina (aka Lauren Suddeth) is a rising young star in the music industry. Born and raised in San Diego, Lauren Alaina has been studying music ever since she was a young child learning to play the drums. Lauren Alaina was signed by RCA Records after appearing on several popular shows on Vh1. Following her break with RCA, she went on to sign with Gold Star and later on with Def Jam Recordings.
Lauren Alaina has also traveled the world while studying music. She has been to Australia, Canada, England, Spain, Hong Kong, and many other countries. She has performed and hosted at various musical events and concert in the United States, as well as internationally. Lauren Alaina made a guest appearance on American Idol where she performed a duet with Keith Urban and gained herself a spot on the winner’s circle.

Lauren Alaina grew up in the eastern part of the Columbus metropolitan area. As a child, Lauren would watch her mother, Ann Aluna, sing and perform gospel songs. At the age of four, Lauren learned to play the piano. She has also demonstrated her talent as a singer on numerous occasions.

On the twelfth season of American Idol, Lauren Alaina was not the surprise choice to be the runner-up. Instead, Lauren Hanks took the throne as the new number one girl. Lauren performed impressively throughout the show, and although many people were surprised by her performance, others were pleased with the new direction American Idol has taken. According to a press release from Yahoo!, American Idol will feature an all original song this upcoming season. The song is yet to be revealed, but it is safe to assume that it will be an original song written by a major label. Other songs that have been used in past seasons have been hits like “Come Together” by Mariah Carey, “ologies” by Chris Brown, and “Rise” by Britney Spears.
