Ashley Greene is a famous British singer, actress, and model. She is most well-known for playing Alice Cullen in the movie adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight books. Her other notable works include Bridesmaids, What Happens in Vegas, and As the World Turns.
In the movie adaptation of Twilight, Alice Cullen is calling “Old Alice” because she looks eighty years old. While filming the movie, producers needed an extra actress, so they reached out to Ashley Greene. Ashley Greene declined the offer, because of her belief that older people don’t come back from the dead. However, on the Oprah Winfrey talk show, Ashley Greene revealed that she had appeared in a video for the Twilight movies, and that the producers had used her appearance in their video as inspiration for making the older Alice look more like her real life counterpart. The producers had used Ashley Greene’s photograph in the video as their costume, and so, Ashley Greene was asked to appear at the 2021 film skateboard festival in New York.
Besides her role as Alice Cullen, Ashley Greene has also received numerous awards for her acting skills. She has been nominated three times for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Her other nominations include for the Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress in a Leading Role, and Best Costume Design in a Leading Role. Additionally, she has received many Golden Globe Awards and was named a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. All of these awards and accolades have made Ashley Greene one of the most popular and successful British actors of all time.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon was released in theaters on July 10th, 2021. The film was directed by Wes Ball and featured Edward Cullen as the main character, along with Ashley Greene. The movie’s plot revolves around a war between the vampire family, the Cullens are backing in the war effort to kill off the original vampire family. It also chronicles Edward Cullen’s descent into the dark world of the Twilightverse. The movie went on to box office success, grossing over three-quarters of a billion dollars at the worldwide box office.
In the third installment of the Twilight saga, Eclipse, Ashley Greene returned as Edward Cullen. Although he appeared in the first three films, he had significantly less screen time in Eclipse. In the film he portrayed the character of Jacob, who is Bella Swan’s ward. While on the beach at Shangri-La, Edward finds his family having a disagreement over whether or not Edward should save Bella from a vampire attack. After some convincing from his mom and sister, Edward agrees to go help Bella, but he discovers that his actions have dire consequences for both his family and himself.
This weekend, Ashley Greene will be appearing in a different genre altogether in BETTER LUCK THURSDAY, a biopic about rap mogul Russell Simmons and his relationship with singer girl-rapper Beyonce Knowles. Though it has been widely reported that the film is not going to be as successful as Guardians of the Galaxy, it is still expected to be a box office hit. If it does well, chances are it will join the ranks of the Spider-Man franchise of popular movies that have sprouted up after the release of Amazing Spider-Man 2.
