If one is to name the first woman to successfully headline a major rock band in the U.S., it would have to be Queen Latifah. But since there are no official records or official information about this, we will have to depend on the stage names and performances that the band used during their time of existence. The band that made a name for themselves as Queen Latifah, or as they were then called, The Temptations, actually went by the name Back To You. When they changed their stage names, they decided to go back to their original name.
Another notable act in the all-women Los Angeles-based band lo-ball group that also had a short stage name was The Lizzie Oxenford Band. They went by the name The Lizzie Oxenford-era Lizzie and the Bikini Killers. Pauley Perrette, as the lead singer for The Lizzie Oxenford Band, changed her stage name to Pauley Perrette after having a brief stint with the Spice Girl group, which she was signed to after they broke up. After leaving the Spice Girls, she went on to star in her very own television show, titled The Pauley Perrette Show, for three seasons.
Pauley Perrette has also appeared on several episodes of Law and Order: SVU, The Mentalist, Chuck, Smallville, and has also guest-hosted several times for The Late Show with Craig Flood. She is most well known for her roles on the massively popular reality series, The Apprentice, as well as her appearances on The Biggest Loser II. She has been nominated for Golden Globe Awards for her roles on The Apprentice, Chuck, and Smallville, as well as winning the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. She currently has a recurring role on the third season of The Biggest Loser.
