It should be noted that the singer/songwriter/ musician category is dominated by men in the United States. This is not to say that there are not any women singers or musicians in this country, but when you start looking at the overall population of people in this country, you quickly see that men are far outnumbered by women. When it comes to obesity, it is women who outnumber men by about two to one. This may help explain why Branden is often compared to overweight Vanuatu native Vanuatu tuna fishermen (though he is described as “fat” in the book). Branden has been described as having the physical dimensions of a “butterfly.”
In case you are not familiar with Brandon Boyd, he is currently under contract to Dream Theater and recently released a solo album called Wounded Sea. Prior, to working with those groups he wrote and sang songs for two years before committing to Dream Theater. He has since gone on to play bass for Metallica and create his own music. If you are ever in Los Angeles and would like to get to know this up and coming artist, you should make an effort to get to a show of his sometime in the near future. Brandon Boyd is a unique young talent that has the physical presence of an older musician. He will continue to make waves as an independent musician up until he officially gets signed to a major label.
