Alyson grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas during the early 1980’s. She attended the University of Alabama, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. During this time, she was also a member of the band Arkanza. When the band broke up, Alyson entered into a contract with a modeling agency. From this point on, she would change her name to Alesia and start a contracting company called ARK Productions.
Later, she went on to form bandslam with former Arkanza members such as Glen Campbell and Tommy Lee. She released two hit singles and their self-titled album went gold. Their second album, entitled Worlds Collide was not so well received and failed to achieve any sales. This would set the stage for Alyson and the other bandslam members to go their separate ways.
Sometime later, Aly Michalka decided to pursue a career in acting. She appeared in some movies, including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. She also became married to fellow bandlam member Tom Selleck, with whom she has two children. Shortly after divorcing Selleck, she began to appear in several movies and shows that focus on families and raising children. Her roles in the shows focused on the characters’ familial relationships and her half German heritage.
