Mariska Hargitay
Mariska Hargitay, a.k.a. Mariska Hargitay, is an American screenwriter, producer and actress. The mother of one of the most prolific bodybuilders of modern time, Mickey Hargitay, Mariska’s career spanned four decades. She has been nominated for numerous Academy Awards and earned a number of honors including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Leading Role for her role as nurse Olympia Linwood in The Bodyguard Man. She then went on to play the wife of John Hargitone in the movie Bodyguard.
Mariska Hargitay has also been nominated several times for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performances in Romance, Confidence, Mystic River and Chinatown. Her extensive acting career also included parts in movies such as Mystic River, Swing Vote, and Swing Vote opposite Russell Crowder and Donny Yen. She was also nominated for anume award for her performance as Corin at the London Film Festival for her supporting role in that film. Mariska Hargitay is also a celebrated writer, having written several novels including the YA novel Twilight. Other works include writing screenplays and script pieces for numerous movies and television shows.
Mariska Hargitay started her acting career playing the character of Holly Golightly in a very popular TV sitcom called Granite Mountain. The show ran for five seasons and was very popular amongst viewers. The show’s protagonist, Holly Golightly, was a complex and layered character who overcame her alcoholism and sexual addiction. Following her breakthrough performance, Hargitays went on to play the lead role in the acclaimed film Edward Scissorhands, which was one of the year’s most popular films.
For her second film debut, Mariska Hargitay decided to take on a more serious role in the role ofathy in the acclaimed AIDS thriller Have No Fear. The film was a hit with critics and won many awards during its theatrical run. Since then, she has gone on to play the lead roles in critically acclaimed dramas The Secret Life Of Machines And Nobody Knows That, Swing Vote, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which was later made into a feature-length film. Her most recent starring role was the award-winning Dogcatcher, which was released in theaters last year.
Mariska Hargitay has definitely gone from strength to strength since her early days as a child acting in TV commercials and TV shows. She certainly has the range for performing different types of characters, even playing a heartbroken wife who lost everything in a car accident in a very entertaining and heartbreaking way. However, in the past few years, Hargittay has also shown signs of her age playing the same character in a different genre of movie, namely the thriller genre.
