Anthony and his brother John Bennett were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Music by Charles Collyns. The Bennett’s career spanned over thirty years. After leaving the big band, Tony Bennett spent a few more years performing with the Yardbirds, The Doobie Brothers, The Supremes, JLS, Mary J. Blige, Chicano Cool, Boz Scaggs, The Doobie Brothers, and The Yardbirds. These last group of musicians gave rise to what is now known as The New York City Soul Orchestra. He also opened for several legendary artists including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, The Who, Elvis, Ray Vaughan, and Joe Satriani.
