Simon Baker is an Australian Actor in movies and television, and screenwriter. He is best known for his starring roles in the award-winning The Mentalist and the critically acclaimed The Guardian. He also served a year on the TV show CSI. Simon Baker has also been in the news for the past several years because of his participation in the World Wide Web site Wikipedia.

 

Simon Baker is a multi-faceted character actor with strong ties to the Australian rural back-up culture. He grew up in regional Victoria, which is in essence the equivalent of the United States Midwest. Baker has stated that he was heavily influenced by the country’s rural, English-speaking culture during his formative years. As an adult, he continued to hone this interest and moved to Los Angeles, California, where he seemed to thrive as an actor on the East Coast of America. Simon Baker was born in Adelaide, Australia, the youngest of four children. His father was a judge, and his mother was a school teacher. After graduation, he traveled throughout the English-speaking New Zealand and became an actor in a movie theater in New Zealand, which led to his Broadway experience.

As of this writing, there is still no definite plans for a Simon Baker film starring in an animated spin-off of The Simpsons, but there is word that he may end up in a similar situation as Homer Simpson, playing a character created by the late Charles Simpsons.

 

Simon Baker is best known to the public as an Australian mentalist, television personality, and actor. He has portrayed many different characters throughout his career, but is most recognized for portraying the title character of Riggles in the Disney film, Gumball Surprise Adventure. He also had supporting roles in Kingpin, Gossip Girl, The Perfect Score, Cougar Town, The Mentalist, Diner, among others. In fact, Baker was so popular on television that he was asked to voice Riggles again for a video game based on the film Finding Nemo.
