Melissa Gilbert is an American actor, writer, television producer, political aide and former First lady of the United States. Her most notable works include “Seinfeld”, “Catch Me If You Can”, “When Harry Met Sally”, “Catch Me if You Can”, “The Princess Diaries” and “E.T.” She has also appeared in some movies, including “Water World” and “Man on the Moon” her career spanned parts of two decades.

Melissa was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and was a childhood friend of actors John Ritter and Christopher Reeve. She has always said that she wished she had been more famous than either of them. She attended the Beverly Hills High School of Music and pursued a music career in addition to her acting career. She began her film career in a moderately popular role as a cheerleader for the football team at her school. After graduating from the Los Angeles Technical High School of Theatre she moved on to other theater roles, such as appearing in “The Heartbreak Kid” as well “The Perfect Score” and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”.
