Katie Cassidy is an American screenwriter, director and producer. After getting to fame as a screaming teenage scream queen on a series of teen horror films, she then went on to become a producer and writer on some more mainstream movie projects. Recently, Cassidy has been working on a movie script about a teenage girl who vanishes, leaving behind a suitcase. As a result of this, her career has taken off since she was cast in the film.

Katie Cassidy is originally from Los Angeles, California. She attended Occidental College, studied drama, and got her degree in communication. She is married to musician Mark Linn-Baker and has one son. Prior to her marriage to Mark, she had been dating some people from Cal Tech, including Brad Pitt.

In 2021, she produced and starred in her first full length feature film named Afterburn, based on the book entitled Dead Man’s Chest. The film went on to be moderately successful, earning Katie and husband Mark Linn-Baker a best screenplay win at the Sundance Film Festival. Following that, Cassidy wrote and directed the film adaptation of the same novel. The film went on to become another bestseller and was subsequently made into a sequel.

Now, it has been reported that Cassidy will be playing a central character in the upcoming fourth season of The Shield. What has not been officially confirmed is whether or not actress Julie Benz could play the role of Cassidy’s mother in that series. Another actor that could play a major part in The Shield’s fourth season would be Jason Priestley, who played the original father on the show. He most recently appeared in the Sundance Channel’s web series titled The Firm. Another name that could pop up on a The Shield episode in the near future would be Michael Chiklis, who plays the father on Showtime’s recent hit The Shield.

While no official casting has yet been released, The Shield’s casting directors are confident that Cassidy will be able to adequately fill the role. This is good news for The Shield fans that were concerned about how the actress’ contract would affect the show’s renewal. As long as Cassidy can portray a supporting role and make an appearance on an episode of The Shield, there will be little to worry about. In the end, though, it will be interesting to see how well Katie Cassidy turns in her role.
