Karen Mulder Measurements: Body, Bra, Waist, Hips, & Shoe Size

Karen Mulder was born in Voorburg in April, 1970. Her name is pronounced Karen Moo-man and she is of Asian descent. She is the daughter of Victoria Czaia and Wimbeldon Mulder.

Karen Mulder’s biography is very interesting. She graduated from the University of Nijmegen in the winter of 1976. Then she joined the fashion magazine, Elle, where she participated in both editorial and feature writing assignments for the next two years. Then she went freelance writing articles and worked as a staff writer for the medical journal, JAMA.

In the fall of that year she went to an exhibition called Milk Run and was impressed by the world of supermodels. She decided to attend the U.S. fashion week circuit in New York. There she met both John Galliano and Frank Capra, who signed her to Elle. Shortly thereafter, she began a career as a supermodel with the agency, IMG. She appeared in ten Elle covers and two of those were in the special women’s issue.

Karen began working for the Holland/America agency in the spring of 1978. She began as a catalog model and quickly moved up through the ranks to being a full-time model by the end of the year. When she moved to Vaitape, a Dutch agency, she worked in the children’s department. However, she did not like the language and culture of that agency and wanted to experience something more diverse. She negotiated a switch to the supermodels agency in the summer of 1979.

On the evening of her seventeenth birthday, Karen Mulder attempted to take her own life. She left a note for her mother explaining that she planned to take her own life on New Year’s Day, the day that would hopefully bring her recognition and love from supermodels. That note did not make the news, but the photograph of Karen Mulder with bloodshot eyes and a cigarette in one hand, which were displayed in many fashion and supermodel magazines, did.

When news of her suicide attempt spread throughout the fashion and modeling industry, the agents who had once represented Karen Mulder lost interest in her. At first, nothing happened. Then, one of Karen’s former modeling agents entered into a plea bargain with the authorities stating that they would assist in the investigation into her death if she told them what happened to her. She did. The plea bargain landed Karen Mulder free of all charges and the investigation into her death was finally stopped.
