Chris Brown is an American multi-talented singer-songwriter, musician, dancer and actor known for his blunt yet catchy songs. Born in Tappahannock, Virginia, he began his musical career at the age of six when his parents sent him to a summer camp where they hoped to teach him basic life skills. His other albums include: I Believe, Live, Welcome to My World, Chris Brown: Don’t Play That Song, Chris Brown: Here This Nothing, Chris Brown: Here There and Chris Brown: Thank God I’m a Country Boy. The fifth album Chris Brown has released is called Chris Brown: Scum, which came out after the release of his first album. The album was a major success due to its chart topping single, “Pumped Up.”

Chris Brown made his debut single run with The Chronic. The song “Pumped Up” was originally intended for Chris Brown’s debut album but it was later decided that the single had a better chance at a major push than Chris Brown. The song was a huge hit, peaking at number seven on the Hot 100. Chris Brown’s debut single “Pumped Up” also became one of the most streamed songs on YouTube. After Chris Brown’s “Pumped Up” song was a huge hit, The Chronic returned to the charts with Chris Brown performing along with Lil Wayne, Nelly and Young Jeezy.
A collaboration between two of the biggest rappers in the world, Chris Brown and 50 Cent became their second song to hit the billboard Hot 100. Chris Brown and 50 Cent have made a name for themselves together as they have created several chart topping songs. Chris Brown’s song, “Xxplosive” was the last single they released together. Chris Brown’s record once again made the Hot 100, as it debuted at number 34.
Chris Brown has been involved in several legal battles. Charges of assault were brought against him after an arrest in August of 2021 when he reportedly got into an altercation with another person in the Georgia state capitol. Chris Brown was taken into custody and later released without the charges being filed. He has since signed deals with Gwen Stefani, Rihanna and Elton John but has yet to record any new music.
