Britney Spears

Britney Spears is an American entertainer, actress, singer, and songwriter. She is commonly known as the “Queen of Pop” and is attributed with popularizing the new genre of teen rock in the mid-1990s and the early 2000s. Her music has reached the peak of chart success with hits like “Hit Me One More Time” and “Hit Me One More Hour”. Britney Spears was born in Southern California to Jamaican immigrants. Her parents, along with her grandparents, developed a passion for music from a young age and encouraged her passion by playing her first instrument at the age of six. She honed her skills by joining a few local dance clubs in her neighborhood and later performing there for money.

Britney Spears grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada where her parents were both teachers. Her early musical interests include her fondness for classical music including classical songs, jazz, gospel, country, pop, Spanish music, as well as pop-rock. Her family had a large influence on her upbringing. Her mother encouraged her love of music at an early age and encouraged her to focus on her dancing talent. Her younger years spent learning ballroom dancing inspired her to hone her skills for her role as a member of the British cast of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ in the early 2000s.

Britney Spears was one of the brightest musical minds that ever went into the recording industry. She began working with her then teenage self on and off since she was very focused on her career. She began working with her then Young Money group mentor, Jason Orange, when she was only 18 years old. Britney and Jason created a musical duo with the very catchy hit “rave: Bring Me The Horizon”.

Britney Spears was one of the youngest members of the Britney Spears/Young Money/YMCA circuit when a lawsuit was filed against her by the daughter of one of her many fans. Charges of molestation were brought against the then 16-year-old, who according to the girl’s mother was only six years old at the time. Britney strenuously denied the allegations, stating that the girl was not older than her legal age at the time of the alleged incident. Following the lawsuit, Britney and her camp reached a settlement with a conservatorship being granted to the daughter.

Britney was not the only celebrity to have a conservatorship granted. Several other female celebrities have had to deal with the same legal issues that the former reality television star endured. In the case of Britney Spears and her friend Ms. Ilene wherein a conservatorship was awarded to the then nineteen-year-old starlet, the two girls were given additional time to work out their differences. Britney Spears was eventually allowed to return to performing on her chart-topping hit while Ilene was forced to give up her share of the earnings from the song.

When the dust settles and Britney Spears successfully returns to the music scene with the new recording of her latest single, Bored to death, the question remains whether or not Britney is better suited for the upcoming challenges ahead. Should she stay in the midst of the turmoil and continue to operate under the shadow of Christina Aguilera? Or should the next artist that comes along be allowed the opportunity to overshadow Britney? Many would argue that the answer is both yes and no, but it is ultimately up to the consumer to decide what is in their best interest.
